Literatures of the World So Far

What I've Enjoyed

I've thoroughly enjoyed this class thus far. I've always liked analyzing literature, and the books that we've read in this course have been very interesting to both read and analyze. I'm also enjoying the wide variety of texts that we have studied and will study. While it's easy to see how similar texts relate to one another, comparing texts from different cultures written centuries apart reveals forces one to think deeper and ultimately results in a better understanding of both texts.

My Favorite Activities

Of the activities/projects we've done so far, this blog has been one of my favorites. While discussions are good for more engaging and involved discussion, written analysis like blog posts allow one to more thoroughly think through the topic and gives the opportunity for editing and pausing to rethink certain points, resulting in a more in-depth and well-developed analysis. I've had discussions in every English class I've taken, but I've never done something like this blog, and I'm enjoying this new way of discussing.

  1. I really like the blog posts too. They help me to regularly formulate my understanding of the texts. They also help me to practice writing.

  3. I definitely agree that the blogs are a really cool aspect to the class! I really enjoy our class discussions on Tuesdays because everyone has just finished completing their blog posts and comments only a couple days prior which means lots of topics and ideas expressed in the blog posts are brought up. I really like that because the blogs really do give people a chance to organize their thoughts well!
