Final Project Update

How's it Going?

I think that my final project is going pretty well so far. I've fully researched my four texts, so unless I feel the need to find a bit more information about the texts themselves I'm done with the whole research part. As of now, I've done a good portion of writing up my findings into Neatline, although I still have a ways to go until that part's done.

What am I Enjoying?

I've found this research to be very interesting. In looking at texts that connect with one another, I often find myself falling down a rabbithole, finding one text that's based off of another that's based off of several others. Unfortunately I couldn't use most of these findings for my project, as the related texts tend to be from the same time period and/or location, but it is still fascinating to see how so many texts connect to one another.

I've also had fun playing with Neatline's more advanced features. As a tech-oriented person, I have a lot of fun figuring out how programs work. Using CSS and HTML, figuring out how to create irregular shapes, and automating certain tasks through Neatline have all been fun for me to figure out. Unfortunately there have been a few roadblocks (apparently you need to be an admin to change an exhibit's theme), but overall it's been an enjoyable experience.

  2. It's great that you've been able to get really far into your research! Also, the way that you've been able to use html to automatically set the size and color of certain parts of you neatline exhibit is really cool.
